It’s 1883, 17 years prior the turn of the century in the old city of Chicago. The industrial revolution is in its infancy and the city is entering a new age of wealth and prosperity. It is a city dedicated to the rise of the future and to all that is modern, not the past steeped in superstition and ignorance. Science is becoming the new religion of the enlightened man.
But, there is something sinister that roams the night’s gas lit streets, lurking in the darkness preying on the innocent and the unsuspecting. It is an evil without conscience and as old as human kind; it is an evil that stalks and feeds on the living without pity or remorse; a monster.
It is a vile creature driven by hunger, a hunger that is always wanting but never waning, a thirst that can never be quenched, and a curse that can never be broken. It has crossed time through the millennia, taking multitudes of lives in many places seemingly with impunity.
I say seemingly, because there is a group of men dedicated to the extermination of this night breed of the undead, these Nosferatu, these vampires, and this group is almost as old as the vampires they doggedly pursue!
We are hunters that have been known by many names through the ages; we are sworn to secrecy, we pledge a blood oath of allegiance to our cause and are willing to give our lives if need be to rid the world of vampires and protect human kind! We are the Knights of the Second Order, Brothers of Artemis, Division 6.
